Our Priests

Fr. Athanasius K. Farag was ordained in 1989 by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III in St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria, Egypt. In addition to being priest of our church, he was appointed, by His Holiness, the dean of the Pope Shenouda III Coptic Orthodox Theological Seminary, which was originally founded in Jersey City, NJ and moved to Cedar Grove, NJ.  In 1997, His Holiness elevated him to Hegumen (Protopriest) at the Archdiocese in Cedar Grove, NJ. Before his ordination to the priesthood, Fr. Athanasius studied theology at the Coptic Theological Seminary in Egypt. He received his Masters at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary in NY, and another Masters study at Union Theological school, then his Ph.D. in Patristics from Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University in NY.

Fr. Bishoy L. M. Mikhail was ordained in 2009 by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III in St. Mark’s Cathedral in Cairo, Egypt. Before his ordination to the priesthood, Fr. Bishoy served as a Subdeacon at St. George Church in Heliopolis, Cairo, Egypt, received servants preparation teaching under the hand of the late Dr. Antowan Shenouda, Dr. Moneer, Mr. Fayez all under the supervision of the late Dr. Ragheb Abd Al Nour the teacher of H.H. Pope Shenouda the III. served in the Church of St. Mark in Virginia (DC). Finished his MA in Theological study in Pope Shenouda the III Coptic Orthodox seminary in Cedar Grove , affiliated with the Theological Seminary in Cairo.

Fr. Anthony Doss was ordained in 2023 by His Holiness Pope Tawadros II at the monastery of St. Bishoy in Wadi El Natrun, Egypt. Before his ordination, he served at St. Antonious & St. Mina in East Rutherford, NJ. He attended New York University and graduated with a B.A. in Economics. He went on to study at Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Science where he earned an M.S. in Biomedical Science, after which he studied Medicine at Meharry Medical College and obtained his M.D. He completed his residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and practiced medicine for several years in New Jersey, during which he pursued an M.A. in Theological Studies at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary.
